PFIZER EXTENDS ECOGEN DEAL
Ecogen Inc. said Wednesday that it has signed a five-year agreement with Pfizer Inc. under which Pfizer will manufacture Ecogen's Bacillus thuringiensis-containing biopesticides. The companies previously had a two-year agreement. Pfizer produces all of Ecogen's requirements for its Bt products in the United States and abroad at a facility in Terre Haute, Ind. SANDOZ TENDER OFFER WAITING PERIOD EXPIRES
Sandoz Ltd. said Wednesday that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott Rodino Antitrust Act for its tender offer for slightly more than 4 million shares of SyStemix Inc. stock has expired without requests for additional information from the Department of Justice or the Federal Trade Commission. CANADA APPROVES GYNEX DRUG CHARGES
Gynex Pharmaceuticals Inc. on Wednesday said it has received approval to charge for Oxandrin in Canada when the drug is prescribed for use in Turner's syndrome and in constitutional growth delay. Roberts Pharmaceutical Corp. said Tuesday that it has entered into a letter of intent to acquire for $6.25 million National Clinical Research Centers Inc., a clinical trials management company.
