International Murex Corp. of Toronto is negotiating to acquire the diagnostics business of The Wellcome Foundation Ltd., the companies announced on Tuesday. Potential terms were not disclosed. Genta Inc. on Monday confirmed that it has done a "quiet" filing for an initial public offering of up to 2.5 million shares of common stock. Carrington Laboratories Inc. on Monday said it has received an early approval to market its acemannan immune stimulant to treat a cancer in dogs and cats. Alteon Inc., which late last Thursday priced its initial public offering at $15, is the latest beneficiary of the biotech stock feeding frenzy. CENTOCOR FILES POST-TRIAL MOTION
Centocor Inc. has filed a post-trial motion in the patent infringement suit it recently lost to Xoma Corp., asking the court to reverse at least some of the jury's verdict, a Xoma spokeswoman said on Friday.
