Mushroom-Shape Cow Antibody May Broaden Therapeutic Reach
Researchers have gained new insights into the structure of an unusual type of antibody that is made mainly by cows. They hope those insights will ultimately allow them to make antibodies for indications where traditional antibodies have not been successful. In their work, which was published in the June 6, 2013, issue of Cell, the researchers focused on one particular region of the antibody – the complementarity-determining region 3 (CDR3).
