Patient deaths, side effects resurface for Japanese HCV drug

TOKYO – A hepatitis C drug in the market in Japan since 2011 has been associated with 15 deaths in a little more than two years and with severe side effects in more than 2,500 patients, according to reports that surfaced over the weekend.
