When it comes to health care, money really does talk – especially if it’s in the form of Medicare reimbursement. Ever CMS took a “tough love” approach a few years ago to deny hospitals reimbursement for patients with certain “never events,” including some health care-acquired infections (HAIs), the rate of HAIs has been dropping, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) noted at a Senate committee hearing Tuesday.
