Sirt3 Activation Reverses Aging of Blood Stem Cells

Stem cells are supposed to be the fountain of youth for other tissues. But stem cells themselves age, too, meaning that sooner or later, the fountain of youth could use some rejuvenation itself. Now, a team of scientists has discovered a way to keep stem cells young: by increasing the expression of the sirtuin Sirt3, they were able to improve the function of aged blood stem cells.
