Mervat Faltas, vice president of operations for Anrad (Saint-Laurent, Quebec) has been named president of Anrad. Faltas joined Anrad in July 2005, as vice president of operations. Previously, he served as president and CEO of ITF Optical Technologies. Mervat succeeds Sorin Marcovici, vice president of Analogic who has been with the company for 30 years. Sorin held a number of executive positions within Analogic before taking on the role of president of Anrad in January 2000, shortly after its founding, and is returning to the company headquarters in Peabody, Massachusetts. Anrad, a wholly owned subsidiary of Analogic, develops direct-conversion X-ray detectors and their associated electronics subsystems for advanced digital radiography machines.

Raymond Cannefax has been named president and CEO of Paradigm Medical Industries (Salt Lake City), replacing John Yoon, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Cannefax previously served as Paradigm's vice president of sales and marketing from January 2003 to May 2005, most recently serving as vice president of the Asia/Pacific region for Escalon Medical/SonoMed. Paradigm Medical develops high-tech diagnostic equipment and consumable products.

Daniel Beney has been appointed vice president of sales of Intact Medical (Natick, Massachusetts). Previously Beney served as director of sales, Eastern area, for Conceptus. Intact Medical develops minimally invasive systems for the volumetric excision of tissue for diagnostic and therapeutic applications in select cancer markets.

Dr. David Robbins has been named vice president of product development for Xenomics (New York), to accelerate the commercialization of the company's non-invasive technology based on proprietary Transrenal-DNA. Robbins led the development and FDA approval of the Hepatitis A line of diagnostic products for Abbott Diagnostic. Xenomics is a molecular diagnostic company that focuses on the development of DNA-based tests.
