Shares in Basilea Pharmaceutica AG rose more than 7 percent Wednesday on news that its broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic ceftobiprole gained approval in Europe for treating hospital- and community-acquired pneumonia in adults. The company is still on the hunt for a commercialization partner, however, and the drug will not reach the market until next year.
