Astellas Pharma U.S. Inc., of Northbrook, Ill., and Amgen Inc., of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Thursday became the latest biopharma companies making settlements with the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) to resolve allegations that they illegally paid the Medicare copays for their drugs through purportedly independent foundations, thus violating the anti-kickback law.
