Jeff Popma of Beth Israel Deaconess (Boston), a cardiologist of some repute, attempted to light a fire under FDA's Office of Device Evaluation after a presentation of 30-day data for the third-generation Sapien device by Edwards Lifesciences (Irvine, California).
