Previously, Cook worked at Xceed Molecular on the development and clinical validation of gene expression biomarkers in various areas of cancer. Acurian is a provider of patient recruitment and retention solutions.

• CardioDx (Palo Alto, California) has named Andrew Guggenhime as the company's chief financial officer and Mark Monane, MD, as chief medical officer. Guggenhime most recently was CFO for Calistoga Pharmaceuticals. Monane previously was senior director of medical policy and practices at Medco Health Solutions. CardioDx makes cardiovascular genomic diagnostics.

• Hanger Orthopedic Group (Austin, Texas) has named Kenneth Wilson as president/COO of its orthotic and prosthetic distribution business unit, Southern Prosthetic Supply. Wilson most recently was Cardinal Health's senior VP/GM. Hanger Orthopedic Group provides orthotic and prosthetic patient care services.

• Quanterix (Cambridge, Massachusetts) said Martin Madaus, PhD, has joined the company as CEO. Madaus, who also retains his position as chairman, brings more than 20 years of experience in the diagnostics and life science industries, most recently serving as president, chairman and CEO of Millipore. Quanterix makes research and diagnostic products based on its ultrasensitive protein detection platform.

• Wright Medical Group (Arlington, Texas) has named Robert Palmisano as president/CEO. David Stevens, who currently serves as interim president/CEO, will remain chairman of the board and return to his role as a member of the nominating, compliance and governance committee. Palmisano most recently served as president/CEO of ev3. Wright Medical Group is an orthopedic medical device company and provider of surgical solutions for the foot and ankle.
