• IntegraMed America (Purchase, New York) has named Jay Higham, president/CEO and a director of the company, to the added post of chairman of the board, effective Jan. 1. Higham will replace Gerardo Canet who is stepping down as chairman but who will remain on the board. IntegraMed manages specialty healthcare facilities in the fertility and vein care markets.

• Kindred Healthcare (Louisville, Kentucky) has named Suzanne Riedman, the company's senior VP and general counsel, as chief diversity officer. Riedman will continue to serve as general counsel. Kindred Healthcare is a healthcare services company.

• Lansinoh Laboratories (Alexandria, Virginia) said Richard Thome was named chief operations officer. Previously, Thome served in other executive leadership roles as VP of operations for Orange Glo International, senior VP of operations for Prestige Brands, and executive VP/GM for Pall. Lansinoh Laboratories makes products for breastfeeding mothers.

• NeuroMetrix (Waltham, Massachusetts) said that Nancy Katz was named to the company's board of directors. Most recently, Katz was senior VP, Bayer Diabetes Care – North America. NeuroMetrix is a science-based healthcare company transforming patient care through neurotechnology.

• Vision-Sciences (Orangeburg, New York) has elected Bruce Polsky, PhD, to serve as a member of its board. Polsky is currently chairman of the department of medicine, chief of the division of infectious diseases, and has been active in clinical investigations in HIV and infections complicating neoplastic disease and AIDS since the early 1980s. Vision-Sciences is a medical device manufacturer specializing in efficiency and infection control solutions for flexible endoscopy.

• Vyteris (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) said that Gene Burleson was named to the company's board. Burleson serves on the board of directors of SunLink Health Systems. Vyteris makes transdermal smart patch technology which delivers drugs through the skin using low-level electrical energy.
