St. Jude opens European learning center

St. Jude Medical (St. Paul, Minnesota) reported the official opening of the St. Jude Medical Advanced Learning Center, in Brussels, Belgium, offering education and training in advanced, evidence-based therapies for physicians who treat heart disease.

The center's curricula include cardiac rhythm management (CRM), electrophysiology treatments of heart rhythm conditions, heart valve replacement and repair, vascular closure after interventional procedures and the repair of openings in the septum, the wall that separates the heart's left and right sides. Presented in small groups and including simulations, the training programs are designed to increase physician familiarity and experience with various technologies and procedures.

Graham Group reports opening of new center

The Graham Group (Des Moines, Iowa) reported the opening of the Carondelet St. Mary's Medical Plaza II, a three-story, 70,000 square-foot medical office building serving Tucson, Arizona. The Graham Group developed, owns and manages the new building located on the campus of Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital, a member of the Carondelet Health Network.

The offices currently include the Carondelet Medical Group, a large family practice group, as well as physicians specializing in nephrology, ENT, radiology and urology. More offices are scheduled to open next month including a large orthopedics group, an ophthalmology group, a laboratory and two retail offices; one will sell hearing aids, contact lenses and eye glasses while the other specializes in orthotics and prosthetics. A small amount of office space remains for lease.
