iMedX (Shelton, Connecticuit) a healthcare software and services company, reported that it has acquired Worldtech (San Antonio), along with its Indian operations, Worldtech Pvt. Ltd. With this acquisition, iMedX adds Worldtech's many small clinics and solo practitioners to its expanding customer base and significantly enhances its global transcription production capacity.

Worldtech serves more than 800 physician offices across the U.S., comprising over 1,400 physicians. As a result of this acquisition iMedX will benefit from Worldtech's geographically dispersed customer base, and from Worldtech's well-trained, efficient global medical language specialists. Worldtech's ten years of experience supporting small clinic customers will augment iMedX's efforts to market its Internet-based electronic medical record products TurboRecord and TurboRx to this significant segment of the medical provider market.
