• CA (Islandia, New York) said that Tom Boyle, CA VP of market development, has been elected to represent CA on the board of Continua Health Alliance. CA is an IT management company. Continua Health Alliance is a non-profit open industry coalition of healthcare and technology companies.

• CHI-California Healthcare Institute (La Jolla, California) said that John Stobo, MD, senior VP for health sciences and services of University of California, has been elected to its board of directors. CHI is a non-profit public policy research organization, representing California academic institutions, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics and pharmaceutical firms.

• Wade Wright was named CTO for RemitDATA (Memphis, Tennessee). Most recently, Wade was the VP of software development for MedAssets. RemitDATA makes web-based productivity tools and benchmarking to the outpatient healthcare market.

• Rodney Hochman, MD, was named to the board of SonoSite (Bothell, Washington). Hochman is currently CEO of Swedish Medical Center. SonoSite specializes in ultrasound for point-of-care medicine.

• SpectraScience (San Diego) said that Duwaine Townsen, Co-Founder/Managing Director of EndPoint Late-Stage Fund has joined its board. Townsen currently serves as a director on the board of Sequal Technologies. SpectraScience make spectrophotometry systems capable of determining whether tissue is normal, pre-cancerous or cancerous without physically removing tissue from the body.

• Paul Sendro was named executive VP of US Spine (Boca Raton, Florida). Sendro most recently was president/CEO of Vertebron. US Spine specializes in facet technologies for spine surgery.
