Gary Guthart was named to the board of Affymetrix (Santa Clara, California). Guthart is president/COO of Intuitive Surgical. Affymetrix makes microarray technology.

• AngioDynamics (Queensbury, New York) said that President/CEO Jan Keltjens has been appointed to its board. AngioDynamics makes products treatment of cancer and peripheral vascular disease.

Craig Corrance was named CEO of Applied Spine Technologies (AST; New Haven, Connecticut). Corrance previously was president of Centinel Spine. AST makes the Stabilimax NZ, a posterior dynamic stabilization device designed to support an injured or degenerated spine without eliminating motion.

Peter Valenti has been named corporate VP and global president, Vision Care, for Bausch & Lomb (Rochester, New York), effective July 1. Valenti joined B&L in January as president, North America Vision Care. B&L is an eye and vision health company.

• Marcolin USA (Scottsdale, Arizona) has named Riccardo Cadorin as VP of sales for the Optical Channel. Cadorin has extensive operations and management experience, with past positions managing sales channels in Europe, Latin America and the U.S. markets. Marcolin is an eyewear company.

Scott Dillon was named president/CEO of MEDS (O'Fallon, Illinois). Previously, Dillon was COO of NES Holding. MEDS is a physician-owned emergency department staffing and management service.
