• Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University's Woodruff Health Sciences Center (Atlanta) has named Paul Spearman, MD, as chief research officer for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and as vice chair of research in the Department of Pediatrics, Emory School of Medicine. Spearman has been division director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Emory since November 2005, when he joined Emory from Vanderbilt University's Department of Pediatrics. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is focused on enhancing children's healthcare through clinical care, research and education. The Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center of Emory University is an academic health science and service center focused on teaching, research, healthcare and public service.

Kenneth Kleinberg has been named VP of business development for Health Language (Denver). Previously, Kleinberg was VP of business development and a hospital strategist at Allscripts Misys Healthcare Solutions. Health Language makes software solutions that automatically incorporate medical vocabulary and coding standards into healthcare information applications.

Eli Adashi, MD, has been named to the board of Inverness Medical Innovations (Waltham, Massachusetts). Adashi is the founder and former leader of the multidisciplinary Ovarian Cancer Program of the NCI-designated Huntsman Cancer Research Institute. Inverness makes medical diagnostics.
