• ConvaTec (Skillman, New Jersey) said that Paul Moraviec has joined the company as president of its continence and critical care business unit and ConvaTec EMEA, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Previously, Moraviec was CEO of Prosurgics Limited. ConvaTec makes medical devices for community and hospital care.

• Grady Barnes, PhD, was named chief scientific officer of Fujirebio Diagnostics (Malvern, Pennsylvania). Barnes most recently was VP of R&D at Meridian Bioscience. Fujirebio Diagnostics is a cancer diagnostics company that specializes in cancer biomarker assays.

• Kindred Healthcare (Louisville, Kentucky) reported changes to its board of directors. Edward Kuntz will relinquish his position as executive chairman and will become chairman of the board of directors effective May 20. Kindred also has named Fred Kleisner to its board effective immediately. Kleisner will serve on the company's audit committee and the compliance and quality committee. In addition, Kindred said that John Klein and Garry Garrison will resign from the board upon conclusion of the 2009 annual shareholders meeting.

• Richard Satre, MD, was named president of Radia (Everett, Washington) and John Little, MD, as chief medical officer. Satre previously was Radia's chief medical officer since October 2005 and Little was president of the company since October 1997. Radia is a private radiology and vascular practice in the Pacific Northwest.

• Dale Clendon was promoted to president of Tri-anim Health Services (Sylmar, California). Clendon has 25 years of medical industry experience, with the last four years as Tri-anim's VP of sales and marketing. Tri-anim is a provider of specialty sales and distribution solutions for healthcare.

• Kirk Shulke, MD, was named to the board of TrinityCare Senior Living (Friendswood, Texas). Shulke has been a medical consultant to TrinityCare for more than three years and has extensive experience in the provision of care for senior adults. TrinityCare Senior Living is a manager and owner of faith-based senior living facilities.
