Gregory Tibbitts was named CFO of Accumetrics (San Diego). Previously, Tibbitts was CFO of CryoCor. Accumetrics makes diagnostic tests for rapid platelet function assessment.

Chris Louisos was named VP of sales and marketing for Alpha Pro Tech (Nogales, Arizona). Louisos has been VP of sales and marketing for the company since last August. Alpha Pro Tech makes disposable and limited-use protective apparel products for the industrial, clean room, medical and dental markets.

Randy Thurman was named president/CEO and chairman of CardioNet (Conshohocken, Pennsylvania). Thurman has been serving as chairman since June 2008 and interim president/CEO since January. CardioNet is a wireless technology company focused on the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiac arrhythmias.

John Bishop was named to the board of Conceptus (Mountain View, California). Bishop is CEO of Cepheid. Conceptus makes the Essure procedure, a non-incisional permanent birth control method.

Jay Flatley, CEO of Illumina, has joined the board of directors of Helixis (Carlsbad, California). Helixis makes nucleic acid tools for research and clinical diagnostics applications.

Jeff Pearson was promoted to assistant VP of underwriting for Midwest Medical Insurance (MMIC; Minneapolis). Pearson joined MMIC as senior underwriting manager in 2003. MMIC is a medical professional liability insurance company.

Sandra Zimmerman was named CFO of Nyer Medical Group (Holliston, Massachusetts). For the past 10 years, Zimmerman has run a consulting business that provides financial expertise to small- and mid-sized companies. Nyer Medical Group is a holding company that operates pharmacies and provides pharmacy management services to not-for-profit entities.

Jay Flounlacker was named senior VP of administration for ReGen Biologics (Hackensack, New Jersey). Most recently, Flounlacker was VP for service delivery at DST Health Solutions. ReGen Biologics is an orthopedic products company that makes tissue growth and repair products for U.S. and global markets.

Elizabeth Gore, MD, has been elected chair of the Full Member Principal Investigators Committee for the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG; Philadelphia). Gore is the RTOG principal investigator for the Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee), where she is an associate professor of radiation oncology. RTOG is a National Cancer Institute-funded national clinical trials group and is administered by the American College of Radiology.

Marla Lander, MD, was named chief medical officer of Solis Women's Health (Austin, Texas). Lander is the lead physician at the Solis Breast Health Center (Indio, California). Solis Women's Health is a specialized healthcare provider focused exclusively on the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer.

• Spectranetics (Colorado Springs, Colorado) reported the appointment of William Jennings and Anne Melissa Dowling to its board of directors. Jennings retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999, where he served over 28 years. Dowling most recently was senior VP for strategy of the U.S. Insurance Group at MassMutual Financial Group. Spectranetics makes the Excimer laser system for use in minimally invasive interventional procedures within the cardiovascular system.

Jay Miller was named to the board of Streamline Health Solutions (Cincinnati). Most recently, from 2002 to 2008, Miller was president/CEO of Vital Images. Streamline Health is a supplier of workflow and document management tools.
