• Evogen (Kansas City) reported the appointment of two senior executives to its management group to lead the business efforts for the newly launched EvoCycler HD12 molecular diagnostics platform. Kevin McCormack was named VP of sales and marketing. McCormack has held positions from sales manager to CEO of companies including Amersham, Imaging Research, Guava Technologies, MDS Sciex and Chip-Man Technologies. Joanne Stephenson was named VP of corporate business development and clinical diagnostics. Previously, Stephenson was VP of business development, sales and marketing at Response Biomedical. Evogen is a molecular detection and diagnostics company.

Joseph Capper was named president/CEO and director of Home Diagnostics (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Capper was most recently president/CEO of CCS Medical. Home Diagnostics makes diabetes management solutions.

Jim Brady was named executive chairman of MedAvant Healthcare (Santa Ana, California). Brady is an operating partner with Marlin Equity Partners. MedAvant is a network that connects payers with providers in a real-time environment for the purpose of electronically processing administrative, financial and clinical information.

Robert Khuzami was named directory of the division of enforcement of the Securities and Exchange Commission (Washington). Previously, Khuzami was a federal prosecutor for 11 years with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.

Barry Smith was named president/CEO of Texcel Medical (East Longmeadow, Massachusetts). Previously, Smith was COO/VP of operations and product development for several medical device product and engineering companies. Texcel Medical is a medical device process development and contract manufacturing company.
