David Rubenstein has been named president/CEO of Coastal Administrative Services (Atlanta), a provider of outsourced information technology and comprehensive administrative back-office business solutions to the long-term care industry. Rubenstein most recently served as chief development officer for Genoa Healthcare Consulting, where he was responsible for all aspects of business development.

• Inverness Medical Innovations (Waltham, Massachusetts), a provider of near-patient diagnostics, monitoring and health management solutions, reported that James Roosevelt Jr., president/CEO of Tufts Health Plan, was elected to the company's board of directors. President Barack Obama recently selected Roosevelt as part of his transition team to co-chair a review of the Social Security Administration. He serves as chairman of the board for Massachusetts Association of Health Plans, and as a member of the board at America's Health Insurance Plans, Emmanuel College and the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center.
