• Jeffrey Smith has resigned from the board of directors of Kensey Nash (Exton, Pennsylvania). Smith, who is a partner and portfolio manager at Ramius LLC, became a director of Kensey Nash in December 2007 and was a member of the corporate governance and nominating committee as well as a member of the strategic planning committee. Kensey Nash provides a range of products into multiple medical markets, primarily sports medicine, spine and endovascular.
• David Sneider was named CFO of Nerites (Madison, Wisconsin). Most recently, Sneider was CFO of NimbleGen Systems. Nerites makes synthetic bio-adhesives that can enhance natural tissue repair, reduce postoperative complications, and degrade safely when they are no longer needed.
• Gisela Orth was named VP of global human resources for Qiagen (Venlo, the Netherlands). Orth most recently was head of HR for Continental. Qiagen is a holding company specializing in sample and assay technologies.
