Merritt spent eight years at Boston Scientific Endoscopy as a region manager and business development manager. Avantis Medical makes the Third Eye Retroscope, an imaging device used in conjunction with a standard colonoscope that provides a retrograde (backward) view of the colon that complements the forward view of the colonoscope.

• Allan Bombard, MD, was named chief medical officer of Sequenom (San Diego). Previously, he was CEO of Lenetix Medical Laboratory. Sequenom specializes in genetic analysis products that translate the results of genomic science into solutions for noninvasive prenatal diagnostics, biomedical research, translational research and molecular medicine applications.
