Ted O'Neill has joined Alliance Seating & Mobility (Pittsburgh) as an assistive technology supplier. O'Neill previously held a similar post at Associated Medical Specialties. Alliance Seating & Mobility is a division of The Scooter Store, and has access to the company's nationwide network of service and support professionals.

• Tobias Samo, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Eclipsys (Atlanta). Most recently, Samo was medical director of information technology at The Methodist Hospital. Eclipsys provides integrated clinical, revenue cycle and business process improvement software, clinical content and professional to healthcare organizations.

• HistoRx (New Haven, Connecticut) has named Kathleen Adams to the newly created position of VP of diagnostics marketing and has retained Stephen Chubb as a strategic advisor to the company. Previously, Adams was marketing director of new technology planning & research for Quest Diagnostics, while Chubb was founder/chairman/ CEO of Matritech. HistoRx is a developer of tissue-based theranostic solutions.

Michael Merhige, MD, has been named medical director of Positron (Houston). Merhige is currently director of the Heart Center of Niagara. Positron is a maker of cardiac nuclear medicine products.

Maureen "Mo" Zilly has been named to the newly-created position of director, federal affairs at Varian Medical Systems (Palo Alto, California). Zilly, who will work in Varian's recently established government affairs office in Washington, most recently served as director of government relations for the Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA), a division of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, where she focused on Medicare and FDA issues. Varian Medical Systems makes devices and software for treating cancer and other medical conditions with radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy, and brachytherapy.
