• Applied NeuroSolutions (Vernon Hills, Illinois) reported the appointment of Gary Parks, a finance and pharmaceutical industry executive, to its board, replacing Robert Vaters, who resigned due to an increase in his external business commitments. Since 1993, Parks has served as secretary/treasurer/CFO of Immtech Pharmaceuticals. Applied NeuroSolutions is focused on the development of an integrated product portfolio for the treatment and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

• Card Guard (Chicago) has named Mike Fiorito as chief sales and marketing officer of LifeWatch Services. In addition, Card Guard announced two additional changes in group management responsibilities. Brent Atwood, former executive VP of sales & marketing, was promoted to COO of LifeWatch Services and Roger Richardson, former president/COO of LifeWatch Services, retires from group management and will serve as an advisor for LifeWatch Services. Fiorito most recently led the U.S. Northeast business unit at Cerner. LifeWatch, a subsidiary of Card Guard, is an independent provider of ambulatory cardiac monitoring services and a manufacturer and distributor of ambulatory cardiac and vital signs monitoring devices in the U.S.

Karen Davis was named CFO of Global Med Technologies (Denver). Davis has 15 years of CFO experience, eight with public companies. Global Med Technologies is an international medical software company which makes regulated and non-regulated software products and services for the healthcare industry.

Thomas McNaughton was named CFO of Harvard Bioscience (Holliston, Massachusetts). He most recently was CFO for Tivoli Audio. Harvard Bioscience makes a broad range of specialized products, primarily scientific instruments and apparatus, used to advance life science research at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, universities and government laboratories.
