Jean Howard has been named president of the American Medical Association Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American Medical Association (Chicago). Howard, of Traverse City, Michigan, is finishing her fifth year on the board of the AMA Foundation. She previously served in several executive positions of the AMA Alliance and other medical associations, and she is the first Alliance representative to be president of the foundation.

Mike Bunker has been named to lead life sciences transactions for the ESP Fund II of Early Stage Partners (ESP; Cleveland). He most recently was district manager for Bard Access Systems at C.R. Bard. ESP is an early stage venture capital firm, focused on the Northeast Ohio region.

James Borgstede, MD, former chair of the American College of Radiology's (ACR) board of chancellors, was recently elected treasurer of the International Society of Radiology (ISR) at the organization's annual meeting in Marrakesh, Morocco, last month. Borgstede is the first American radiologist to serve as an ISR officer since former ACR President Joseph Marasco Jr., MD, served as secretary-treasurer, president and past president from 1989-2001. Borgstede is vice chair of the radiology department at the University of Colorado.
