• Daniel Berdat has been named VP of international sales and marketing for Exactech (Gainesville, Florida). Prior to Berdat's appointment at Exactech, he was GM of Plus Orthopedics China. Exactech makes bone and joint restoration products and biological materials.
• Interventional Spine (Irvine, California) reported the appointment of Harold Hurwitz has been named to the newly created position of CFO for Interventional Spinec (Irvine, California). Hurwitz previously was CFO of Micro Therapeutics. Interventional Spine makes implantable devices for the spine deployed via percutaneous techniques.
• Karl Lindborg has been named head of clinical advocacy for Touch Bionics (Boston). Previously, Lindborg was with the Department of Veteran Affairs as Chief of VA Northern California Health Care System s Prosthetic and Orthotic Laboratory. Touch Bionics makes the i-LIMB hand, a bionic hand with articulating fingers.
• Zila (Phoenix) said that its board named David Bethune interim CEO in addition to his role as chairman. Bethune has been a member of the board since 2005, its chairman since May 2007 and executive chairman since August 2007. The CEO position has been vacant since June 2007. Zila is an oral diagnostic company dedicated to the prevention, detection and treatment of oral cancer and periodontal disease.
