Netsmart Technologies (Great River, New York), a provider of enterprise-wide software and services for health and human services organizations, reported a 10-year contract to provide a vital records software system and related services to the Illinois Department of Public Health Division of Vital Records, expected to generate, it said, about $3.4 million in revenue for Netsmart over the next 24 months. The contract also provides for training, maintenance and support of about $400,000 per year for the next nine year, Netsmart said. There is a provision, over the life of the contract, for additional work in the form of change orders up to $2.5 million.

Netsmart Public Health’s software is designed to help the Illinois division accomplish its goal of reengineering data collection systems for birth, death and fetal deaths, as well as streamlining vital service request tracking and reporting. In addition to the base system, customization and installation, the contract with Netsmart includes training, maintenance and support.

James Conway, CEO and chairman, Netsmart Technologies, said, “This initiative reflects the important contribution of the QS Technologies acquisition, completed in August 2006. The combination of QS Technologies and Netsmart enabled us to assume a leadership position in the vital records and public health markets.”
