Ventilators sold to Calif. health department

Viasys Healthcare (Conshohocken, Pennsylvania) said that it has sold 2,400 LTV1200 ventilators to the California Department of Health Services (CDHS).

It said CDHS purchased the ventilators as part of its initiative to strengthen the state's preparedness for natural and man-made disasters by providing the state's hospitals and healthcare facilities with the systems for addressing bioterrorism, pandemic influenza and other public health situations.

Viasys' LTV Series Ventilator is a light-weight, high-acuity ventilator designed for emergency and disaster situations, the company said. Among its features, the LTV Series Ventilator offers an intuitive "in-the-field" user interface, individualized air pressure and volume controls settings and internal oxygen blending.
