• Carol Berry has been named VP of sales for AviaraDx (Carlsbad, California), a company that does molecular cancer profiling. Berry has been responsible for the North American sales and corporate marketing at Ciphergen Biosystems, Dynacare Laboratories, Cerner Corporation, and Roche Biomedical Laboratories. AviaraDx, Inc. is focused on developing and commercializing molecular diagnostic technologies for personalized medicine in cancer treatment.

• Mitchell Nelles, PhD, has been appointed VP of research and development and technical operations at XDx (Brisbane, Californias), a molecular diagnostics company. Most recently Nelles was VP of North American R&D at bioMerieux. Prior to bioMerieux, Nelles served as vice president of R&D at TriPath Oncology. XDx uses gene expression technology and bioinformatics analyses to measure the immune processes that underlie specific disease conditions. Its flagship product is AlloMap molecular expression testing, a service, offered through the XDx CLIA-certified reference laboratory since January 2005.
