• Timothy Healey has been named senior VP of commercial operations for Advanced Magnetics (Cambridge, Massachusetts). Healy previously was executive director, CNS marketing at Sepracor. Advanced Magnetics is a developer of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles used in pharmaceutical products.

Donal Quinn has been named to the new position of chief operating officer at Dade Behring Holdings (Deerfield, Illinois), and Mark Wolsey-Paige was named to the newly created position of chief strategy and technology officer. The company reported that Hiroshi Uchida, president, global operations and supply chain has resigned from the company to join another firm. Quinn joined Dade Behring in 1998 and has served as the company’s president, global customer management since 2002, responsible for global sales, service and marketing. Quinn also will oversee global reagent and consumable manufacturing and global logistics. Wolsey-Paige has managed the company’s R&D and strategic planning functions, and he will also assume responsibility for instrument manufacturing and the company’s global supply chain. Wolsey-Paige joined Baxter Diagnostics, the company’s predecessor, in 1991. Both Quinn’s and Wolsey-Paige’s roles will become effective Jan. 1. Dade Behring says it is the world’s largest company solely dedicated solely to clinical diagnostics.

Paul Doucette has been named senior director, Clinical Programming and Statistics for Octagon Research Solutions (Wayne, Pennsylvania). Doucette previously was a consultant for BusinessEdge Solutions and First Consulting group. Octagon Research Solutions is focused on developing clinical information workflow from collection to submission.
