• Talyst (Bellevue, Washington) has named Ron Strandin president of its Acute Care Group, which will continue the company’s advancement of pharmacy technology for hospitals. He has been serving as executive vice president of sales. Talyst provides automated systems to hospitals and other centralized pharmacies.

• Tenet Healthcare reported that Jeffery Flocken has been promoted to senior vice president in charge of the company’s California region, effective January 1. He succeeds Stephen Newman, who was recently named Tenet’s chief operating officer, also effective January 1. Tenet, through its subsidiaries, owns and operates acute care hospitals and related health care services.

Steve Bowers has been named to the new position of national business development manager of the Pelvic Floor for Uroplasty (Minneapolis). Bowers previously held sales and sales management positions with Influence, American Medical Systems, Endocare and Novasys Medical. Uroplasty makes devices for incontinence and overactive bladder symptoms.
