Michael Frisch has been promoted to executive vice president and COO, effective Jan. 5, of Alliance Imaging (Anaheim, California), a national provider of diagnostic imaging services. Frisch joined Alliance Imaging in November 2002 and currently serves as senior vice president, Southeast Region. Frisch will assume the role to be vacated by Andrew Hayek, Alliance’s president and COO. As previously reported, Hayek submitted his resignation effective Jan. 5 to pursue an opportunity with DaVita.

Stephen Schendel, MD, professor and former chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center (Palo Alto, California), has been named as Bone Solutions (Dallas) first chief medical officer (CMO). Schendel has been a full-time faculty member of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical School since 1989. Bone Solutions is establishing its BioHesive platform as the ‘one stop bone-, tendon- and ligament-injectable, biodegradable adhesive technology’ for surgeries at hospitals, clinics and other private surgical centers within the orthopedics industry, the company said.

Michael Holman has agreed to join GeNOsys (Provo, Utah) as its new CFO. GeNOsys is a medical research and development company specializing in pharmaceutical, biotechnical and medical gas generating systems. Holman joined GeNOsys in November, bringing with him nearly 18 years of experience in technology, start up business, progressive sales, and successful strategic business development. Holman, a CPA, most recently held the position of CFO for a software technology company. Holman has experience with companies such as Texas Gulf and American Stores Company.

Walter Cuevas has joined Triage Medical (Irvine, California) as CEO. Most recently, Cuevas served as president and CEO of 3F Therapeutics, where he managed the development of 3F’s heart valve technologies. In early 2006, Cuevas negotiated the sale of 3F to ATS Medical. Triage has developed its patented CLASP and TELEPORT technologies for the treatment of a variety of spine conditions.
