• Christian Cabou has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel of Illumina (San Diego). Most recently, he spent five years as general counsel of GE Global Research. Illumina develops next-generation tools for the large-scale analysis of genetic variation and function.

• Rich Cockrell has joined Matria Healthcare (Marietta, Georgia) as vice president, investor relations. Cockrell has previously served as head of investor relations at Exide Technologies, head of strategic financial analysis for ING Americas and as manager of investor relations/strategic finance at The Home Depot and El Paso Corp. Matria Healthcare is a provider of comprehensive health enhancement programs to health plans, employers and government agencies.

• Frank Moschella has joined Pall (East Hills, New York) as vice president, corporate controller. Moschella came to Pall from General Electric, where he served most recently as Americas region controller for GE Water & Process Technologies. Pall provides filtration, separations and purification products.

• Scott Anderson has been appointed as president of the dental business of Patterson, Patterson Dental Supply (St. Paul, Minnesota). Anderson, who joined Patterson Dental Supply in 1993, previously served as vice president of sales and prior to that as vice president of marketing of Patterson Dental Supply. As Patterson's largest business, Patterson Dental provides a virtually complete range of consumable dental products, equipment and software, digital solutions and services to dentists and dental laboratories throughout North America.

• Kristy Waters has been named vice president, operations finance, for Tenet 's (Dallas) Southern States region. Waters most recently served as senior vice president and CFO for Tenet's Sierra Providence Health Network. Tenet's Southern States region comprises 10 acute care hospitals in Alabama, Georgia and North and South Carolina.

• Viking Systems (San Diego) has appointed Donald Tucker president and CEO. He will also join the company's board of directors. Tucker recently retired as a partner and senior executive of Accenture, where he had served as managing partner for the company's medical products, diagnostics and devices industry segments, as well as lead partner for its West Coast biopharmaceutical market. Viking Systems makes laparoscopic vision systems.
