The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE; Oak Brook, Illinois) has named Gary Falk, MD, as its ‘06-‘07 president. Falk is professor of medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Outgoing President Robert Hawes, MD, of the Medical University of South Carolina, turned over the ASGE presidency to Falk in a ceremony on May 24. A member since 1988, Falk has served on ASGE's Governing Board for eight years and has served on many ASGE committees throughout his tenure. ASGE is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the practice of endoscopy.

Afshin Abedi, PhD, has been appointed vice president of CardioMag Imaging (Schenectady, New York), responsible for the company's clinical and regulatory activities. CardioMag makes cardiac diagnostic devices called MagnetoCardioGraphs, which record the electrical activity of the heart using highly sensitive superconducting sensors.
