Sorin Marcovici has been named corporate senior technical vice president of Analogic (Peabody, Massachusetts), a newly created position. Marcovici, who has been with Analogic since 1976, recently served as president of Anrad, an Analogic subsidiary that has pioneered the development of flat-panel detectors for direct digital radiography. Analogic is a manufacturer of advanced health and security systems and subsystems sold primarily to OEMs.

Andrew Reed, PhD, has joined CardioTech International (Wilmington, Massachusetts) as vice president of technology in charge of CardioPass coronary artery bypass development and biomaterials. The company called Reed a “world expert“ in the area of biocompatible and biodurable polyurethanes. He was instrumental in the development of synthetic polyurethane vascular grafts using the phase inversion fabrication technique. He also is the inventor of Mitraflex microporous polyurethane membrane-based wound-healing products. Reed was formerly executive vice president, operations for the Specialty Products Division of CCS Medical. CardioTech is a manufacturer of advanced medical device products treating cardiovascular disease.
