Stephen T.D. Dixon, executive vice president and CFO of Clarient (San Juan Capistrano, California), will resign those posts effective Feb. 3 to pursue a new professional opportunity. He has served in those positions for Clarient since December 2002. Clarient, a majority owned subsidiary of Safeguard Scientifics, provides technologies, services and support for the characterization, assessment and treatment of cancer via its Automated Cellular Imaging System.

Indira Pottathil, PhD, has been appointed the first director of international marketing for Grant Life Sciences (Los Angeles). Since 1996, Pottathil has served as vice president of R&D at AccuDx, where she managed compliance efforts as well as development and production of in vitro diagnostic products. Grant Life Sciences develops products to detect and diagnose cervical cancer, including a non-invasive, point-of-care test. It also markets rapid tests for malaria, Dengue fever, HIV-1 and HIV-2 that were acquired from AccuDx.

Rob Burrows, vice president and CFO of LightPath Technologies (Orlando, Florida), has been named CFO of FDN Communications, a provider of communications services in the Southeast, and has resigned his positions with LightPath effective Feb. 8. The company said Kenneth Brizel, president and CEO, would serve as acting CFO and acting principal financial and accounting officer while a search for a replacement for Burrows takes place. LightPath manufactures optical products including precision molded aspheric optics, Gradium glass products, collimator assemblies, laser components, higher-level assemblies and packing solutions.

• McKesson (San Francisco) has reported a series of management changes in its Pharmaceutical Solutions and Medical-Surgical Solutions segments, effective April 1. John Figueroa, president of retail national accounts for U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution, becomes president, U.S. pharmaceutical distribution. Gary Muensterman, president, McKesson Medical-Surgical, becomes senior vice president, corporate strategy and business development. Brian Tyler, president, McKesson Specialty Pharmaceutical, becomes president, McKesson Medical-Surgical. Patrick Blake, president, customer operations for U.S. Pharmaceutical Distribution, becomes president, McKesson Specialty Pharmaceutical, McKesson Pharmacy Systems and Automated Prescription Systems. McKesson is a healthcare services and information technology company.

Christopher Wagner has been named senior vice-president of sales and marketing at MDS Nordion (Ottawa, Ontario). Wagner has nearly 30 years of global sales and marketing experience, most recently with Tyco Healthcare/ Mallinckrodt. MDS Nordion's product lines include medical isotopes for molecular imaging, development and manufacturing of radiotherapeutics, and sterilization products and services for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease.
