Corgenix Medical (Denver), a marketer of diagnostic test kits, has named Robert Abeyta director of manufacturing and Kimberly Hassler director of quality and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Corgenix, Abeyta was production planning manager and head of marketing for Roche Colorado, while Hassler served as manager of quality and regulatory compliance for Ischemia Technologies. In addition, Corgenix named F. Jon Geske, PhD, research scientist. Previously, Geske served as laboratory director for ELISA Tech.

Timothy Holzer, PhD, has been appointed to head the research and development program of DiagnoCure (Quebec City, Quebec). In addition to leading industrial research and development management functions, Holzer has served as director, technology and development of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at the Center for Genome Research. DiagnoCure develops diagnostic tests for the early detection of cancers.

Michelle Boston has been named vice president, information services, at Partners Imaging (Dallas). Boston joins Partners Imaging from her post as information technology director, transition management office at Affiliated Computer Services. Partners Imaging provides turnkey computed tomography solutions for cardiovascular imaging to healthcare providers.

Radlink (Torrance, California), a global radiography company that provides a range of medical film-to-digital image conversion, storage and delivery services to healthcare providers, said it has put in place a seasoned management team to help propel the company to what it termed "a new level of growth" over the next five years. The company named Thomas Hacking chairman and CEO, and Glenn Crosse vice chairman of technology. Hacking is an experienced entrepreneur with a 35-year track record as an investor and investment banker, and Crosse has 25 years of experience in software and systems development.

Thomas Dugan has been named senior vice president, marketing, and Robert Massa vice president, corporate accounts, at SonoSite (Bothell, Washington). From 2002 to 2004, Dugan was president of InterVascular, a subsidiary of Datascope, and was a corporate officer of Datascope. Massa most recently was national sales manger, enterprise and strategic accounts, for the ultrasound division of GE Healthcare. SonoSite specializes in developing hand-carried ultrasound systems.

David Weavil has been named CEO of Specialty Laboratories (Santa Monica, California), a hospital-focused clinical reference laboratory. Weavil has served as a consultant to the healthcare industry since 1999. He has held a variety of top management positions, including serving as chairman and CEO of Unilab and executive vice president and chief operating officer of LabCorp.

James Smith has been named vice president and chief operating officer of Suros Surgical Systems (Indianapolis). Smith most recently was executive director of marketing and strategic planning for MacAllister Machinery and before that vice president at Hill-Rom. Suros is a developer of vacuum-assisted breast biopsy, recently receiving approval for its ATEC Breast Biopsy and Excision System in Canada.

Joseph Cooper has been named to the new position of senior manager, radiology CT, for Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS; Tustin, California). Cooper previously was with Siemens Medical Solutions USA, his positions including CT-PET/CT product sales executive and senior CT applications specialist. TAMS markets and services diagnostic imaging systems, coordinates clinical diagnostic imaging research for all modalities in the U.S.
