• BriteSmile (Walnut Creek, California), a provider of advanced teeth whitening technologies and products, reported that effective immediately, Dr. Julian Feneley, company president, has assumed all of the responsibilities of CEO Gregg Coccari, including oversight of marketing, associated centers and center performance. Feneley assumed Coccari’s duties after the board accepted Coccari’s resignation.

Robert Palardy will be resigning his positions with Cambridge Heart (Bedford, Massachusetts) as vice president of finance and administration, CFO and secretary, effective July 8. Palardy will be leaving after seven years as CFO for a new opportunity in Florida. The company’s accounting and financial functions will report directly to President and CEO David Chazanovitz until a replacement is identified. Cambridge Heart is engaged in the development of products for the non-invasive diagnosis of cardiac disease.

Jay Lustbader, MD, an ophthalmologist and medical director at LCA-Vision’s LasikPlus vision centers in the Washington area, has been appointed to serve as chairman of the ophthalmology department at Georgetown University Hospital (Washington). Lustbader has been a surgeon with LasikPlus since 2000, and has been a member of the medical staff at Georgetown University Hospital since 1992.

Robb Young, product manager for the cardiac computed tomography (CT) business unit of Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS; Tustin, California), has been promoted to the newly created position of senior manager, market segment cardiology CT. TAMS sells and services diagnostic imaging systems and coordinates clinical diagnostic imaging research for all modalities in the U.S.
