• Coapt Systems(Palo Alto, California), a manufacturer of bioabsorbable implants for the fixation of soft tissue in the plastic and reconstructive surgery markets, reported that it has released the Endotine Midface Bone 4.5 in the U.S. to coincide with the annual congress of the American Society of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons in New Orleans. The Endotine is the fifth in a series of new products the company will launch over the next 12 months. “This new device completes our midface product offering, now enabling surgeons to elevate the cheek in any direction from vertical to oblique,” said John Kraczkowsky, senior vice president of sales and marketing.

• Compex Technologies (Minneapolis), a manufacturer of electrical muscle stimulation products used for sports performance enhancement, rehabilitation and pain management, reported that its Rehabilicare division has received FDA clearance of its new IF 3Wave interferential device. The IF 3Wave is designed specifically for pain management. The IF 3Wave captures patient usage data, which can be downloaded from patients’ homes and reported to their healthcare providers.

• HealthMedia (Ann Arbor, Michigan), which develops tailored health behavior change programs, reported the launch of two online programs in the Spanish language, HealthMedia Succeed, a health risk assessment program, and HealthMedia Balance, an obesity and weight management program.
