Joseph Farmer has been appointed general counsel and vice president of legal affairs for Advanced Magnetics (Cambridge, Massachusetts). Farmer will assume the responsibilities of Rachel Konforty, who will continue with the company in a part-time role. Farmer was most recently a senior associate in the business practice group of the legal firm of Testa, Hurwitz and Thibeault. Advanced Magnetics develops super-paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles used in imaging agents to aid the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease and cancer as well as in pharmaceuticals for treating anemia.
