Ardais is clinical genomics company focusing on enhancing pharmaceutical discovery and accelerating biomedical research by reducing the reliance on disease models and aiding in the study of actual human disease.

The company focuses on creating libraries of research-quality clinical materials linked to medical information to speed the development of therapeutics. The result is the BIGR System, a library of research-quality clinical materials and associated information, accompanied by bioinformatics capabilities. The company relies on donors to provide clinical samples and employs review panels to ensure the participants’ rights are protected.

Ardais launched in September 2000 with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Duke University Medical Center the National Clinical Genomics Initiative, a strategic collaboration with leading U.S. medical institutions to facilitate genomics-based biomedical research among qualified academic and industrial researchers. Maine Medical Center and The University of Chicago joined the collaboration in 2001 and additional medical centers are expected to join.
