SomaLogic Inc., founded in 1999, is a proteomics company developing its aptamer technology to produce an aptamer arrays platform for high-throughput protein screening. Building on its research proteomics foundation, SomaLogic’s clinical diagnostics platform will enable screening, diagnosis and disease management.

The array will be used to produce protein profiles, identify targets and protein interactions, as well as in preclinical and clinical testing and disease-marker and drug-response screening.

SomaLogic initially plans to offer protein measurement through its SomaLogic Research Services and ultimately through commercially available aptamer arrays to build a commercial diagnostics company.

Working with strategic partners, SomaLogic also will develop protein array applications outside the field of human health care, which may possibly include the detection of airborne or food-borne pathogens, veterinary applications and the assessment of agricultural plant diseases.

Partners that provide human protein samples include Pfizer Inc., Syngenta, Procter and Gamble Co., Celera Genomics Group and Mitsui & Co. Ltd. SomaLogic also has platform partners that develop the arrays, readers and related instrumentation and clinical and commercial partners that provide diseased-phenotype samples.
