Overview Softberry Inc. is a developer of bioinformatics software tools for genomics research. Its primary areas of interest and expertise are in genome annotation, functional site identification in DNA and proteins, sequence database management, genome comparison, expression data analysis, protein structure prediction and protein localization prediction. The company provides customized solutions to analyze and compare genomes, predict and annotate their genes based on sequence and structure comparison, recognize conserved regulatory elements and define cell location of predicted proteins. Softberry develops programs in-house and distributes them under license from outside copyrightholders. Many programs are improved versions of programs developed in academia.
