Spotfire is a provider of eAnalytic applications that can be used to handle the volumes of data from genomics, proteomics, drug discovery and clinical trial activities. Spotfire DecisionSite, Spotfire’s core product, is a fully configurable eAnalytic tool that allows users to access and merge data from a variety of sources, including proprietary tools and commercially available products. DecisionSite allows users to interact with data via visualization and analytical tools as well as collaborate with colleagues and partners.
Spotfire also offer professional services, providing basic needs assessment, project management, applications customization and education and product training. Its services department is staffed with technical and application consultants with industry-domain experience.
In January 2002, Spotfire said Procter & Gamble, Biogen Inc., Anadarko, AstraZeneca plc and Carlsson Research were among the more than 120 new customers it signed in 2001. Spotfire counts as customers more than 350 corporations and 16,000 end-users, including all of the major pharmaceutical companies, the company said.
A collaboration with Proteome Inc. allows mutual customers to access and analyze data from Proteome’s BioKnowledge Library using Spotfire.net, Spotfire’s web-based decision analytics software. Partnerships with other companies including Affymetrix Inc., Incyte Genomics Inc. and Celera Genomics provide added value to Spotfire’s DecisionSite product.BioWorld MedTech
