Cardima (Fremont, California) has made several organizational changes. Gabriel Vegh, company founder and former senior vice president, chief operating officer and a director, was elected president and chief executive officer, succeeding Dr. Phillip Radlick, who was elected chairman of the board. Also, William Wheeler was named senior vice president of sales and marketing. Wheeler most recently led the building of a sales and distribution organization for Sulzer Vascutek

Medtronic AVE (Santa Rosa, California), the vascular business of Medtronic (Minneapolis, Minnesota), has hired two senior executives. Mark Gaterud has been named vice president and general manager of Medtronic AVE's coronary operations in Santa Rosa. He most recently served as vice president of operations for Impra, a division of C.R. Bard. Additionally, Laura Dietch has been named vice president of global marketing for Medtronic AVE. Dietch most recently served as vice president of marketing for LuMend.

Gary Levin, MD, has been named executive vice president, sales, marketing and business development, of Qmed (Laurence Harbor, New Jersey). Previously, Levin was medical director at PacifiCare. Also, Jane Murray has been promoted from vice president, disease management operations, to executive vice president of that unit. Qmed's Online Health Management System for Coronary Artery Disease is a medical information technology combining patient-specific prognosis and national standard therapeutic recommendations to primary care doctors.

Jack Herman has been named to the newly created position of vice president, research and development, for Transfusion Technologies (Natick, Massachusetts). Herman previously served as vice president, operations, for Focal. Transfusion Technologies makes equipment and disposable sets for the processing of human blood for transfusion to patients.
