Medtronic Inc. of Minneapolis named Arthur Collins chiefoperating officer. Collins, who was executive vice president andpresident of Medtronic International, is filling a position thathas been vacant since 1991.

Kathleen Stafford was named vice president and chief financialofficer at Onyx Pharmaceuticals of Richmond, Calif. Stafford hadbeen treasurer at Amgen Inc. since 1989 and chief financialofficer of Amgen Development Corp.

Ecogen Inc. of Langhorne, Pa., promoted James Reilly topresident and chief executive officer from president and chiefoperating officer. He succeeds John Davies as CEO. Davies willcontinue to serve as chairman of the company's board ofdirectors.

Richard Moser was elected president, chief executive officerand director at Escagenetics Corp. of San Carlos, Calif. Hereplaces Douglas MacMaster on the board and Raymond Moshyas president and CEO. Moshy will continue as chairman ofEscagenetics' board of directors. Moser was previouslypresident of R&D Funding Corp., an affiliate of PrudentialSecurities Inc.
