Plant Genetic Systems N.V. announced Tuesday that fundsmanaged by Oppenheimer Management Corp. in New York haveinvested $10 million (U.S.) in the company. PGS, a privatelyheld agricultural biotechnology company in Ghent, Belgium, hasraised $70 million since it was formed in 1983. The fundsinvolved are Oppenheimer's Global Securities fund,Oppenheimer's Growth and Income fund and Oppenheimer'sGlobal Bio-Tech fund.

PGS's primary focus is in crop hybridization and thedevelopment of insect-tolerant plants. PGS applies thesetechnologies in canola, cereals and vegetables.
