Newco Trogenix Ltd. has emerged from incubation and raised £70 million (US$94.1 million) in a series A, as it prepares the ground for a U.S/U.K. clinical trial of a novel gene therapy construct in glioblastoma multiforme that is due to start at the beginning of 2026.

Rhythm Diagnostic Systems SAS (RDS) raised €14 million (US$16.6 million) in a series A funding round for Multisense, its wearable device that continuously monitors key physiological parameters of patients in hospital or at home. Already CE-marked and deployed in approximately 15 hospitals across France, Belgium and Germany, the funds will enable RDS to expand its commercial and customer support teams and prepare reimbursement filings in key European markets, Elie Lobel, CEO of RDS, told >BioWorld.

Comphya SA raised CHF 7.5 million (US$ 8.4 million) in a series A round for its implantable neurostimulation therapy, Caverstim, which treats men with erectile dysfunction who do not respond to medication.

The Alphafold machine learning system for predicting a protein’s structure from its amino acid sequence has been adapted to make it possible to design de novo proteins that fold in a particular way and bind to prespecified target proteins. The sister system, called Alphadesign, works by generating random strings of amino acids, using Alphafold to predict their structure, and then iteratively optimizing the design.

Aortyx SL secured €13.8 million (US$15.9 million) in a series A funding round for its solution which treats aortic dissection. The company developed a system to repair the aortic tear, which includes a biomimetic, bioresorbable adhesive patch inserted in the aorta using an endovascular catheter and a deployer.

Phase Scientific International Ltd. raised $34 million in a series A round to accelerate research and development of its early disease detection technology for multiple cancers, women's health issues, and infectious diseases.
