Researchers from Ascentage Pharma Group International and Ascentage Pharma (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. have synthesized tricyclic compounds acting as inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAP) inhibitors reported to be useful for the treatment of cancer, AIDS, autoimmune disease, immune thrombocytopenia (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura), infections, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory disorders, among others.
Citing efforts to “encourage innovation,” China’s National Healthcare Security Administration included 111 new drugs in its National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL). The adjustment, shared Jan. 18, 2023, also removed three drugs, leaving the latest NRDL with a total of 2,967 drugs. Most of the newly added drugs are recently approved drugs, with many making it to the market in the last five years. Twenty-three were approved in 2022.

Ascentage Pharma Group International’s olverembatinib has received marketing approval from China’s NMPA for the treatment of patients with tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-resistant chronic phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML-CP) or accelerated-phase CML (CMP-AP) harboring a T315I mutation. The Suzhou, China-based firm said the decision marks the country’s first approved third-generation BCR-ABL inhibitor for the treatment of TKI-resistant CML.

BEIJING – After Suzhou, China-based Ascentage Pharma Group International launched a $53 million IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) last week, Tot Biopharm International Co. Ltd., also from Suzhou, and Sinomab Bioscience Ltd., of Hong Kong, will also debut on the bourse to reap as much as $87 million and $223.1 million, respectively, in the following two weeks.
